What's the point of fast food restaurants when they make you park in the drive..

I figure it lets them "park" one car while they prepare something that is not pre made and serve the next cars in line at the same time...

Stop ordering 'specialty items' and get 'cher burger fries and coke like rest of us... the funnel only works when america works the system.

There is a timer in many restaurants that reports how long a vehicle has been waiting at the window. Sometimes the restaurant will get you to pull up so that this timer will be low, making their service seem better than it is.

When I worked at Burger King in high school, there was a timer that started the minute someone drove up to the menu/speaker, and stopped when the car left the last window. Apparently managers got penalized in some way if the timer average was above a certain amount, so making people pull up and park was an effective way of quickly stopping the timer before the customers got their food.

Bingo. Corporate reviews drive thru times so when you have to wait, they ask you to pull up which gets you off their timer. I worked at Cane's in high school but we weren't allowed to have people pull off

#1) don't order a huge sack of food at the drive thru. Go inside if they are open.
#2) If you order something they have to cook for 7-8 minutes and the people behind you have 30 second burgers, why not handle the other orders while yours cooks? Move up and park.

All I got was a bacon quarter pounder with cheese fries and tea. Also, no pickles and no onions on the burger.
