why? What are your favorite dishes?

We had a similar thread about 3 or 4 years ago that P-man started which turned into a fight similar to the current TJ threads so I decided not to resurrect it for updates, but rather to start anew.

Please limit to in New Orleans proper, not the left bank or Metry etc... Many thanks.

Not sure if it's the best, but I love me some Lebanon's. Sidewalk seating and BYOB. I've been meaning to hit up the Ethiopian place on Magazine. Anyone tried it? Been probably 10 years since I've had Ethiopian food.

ETA: If you will be in town through Sunday, Milkfish(filipino) would easily be the most adventurous place you could try.

Good call. I've never been but hear great things. It's right down the street from me too.

Sorry to hijack - I've been to Nile (the newer place on Magazine). The food was pretty good, but not nearly as vibrant as places I've been in NYC and DC. Satisfied the craving closer to home though.

To answer the original question, I'd say Dong Phoung (though it's in the East) or Lebanon Cafe.
