Yeah the only way to get him would be Gordon or Tyreke (plus filler). I can't see why they would be interested in either.

One journalist made the point that the new interim GM probably won't keep the job by making no moves. Taking a risk like Deng for Gordon could get him the job if it works out, Deng for no one, or even just spare parts probably doesn't get him the job. He has to take a bit of a risk. Although he might be fine staying on as an assistant in the FO.

If Deng has made it known that he wants out then they must trade him before he walks...if he does and Cleveland gets nothing in return I think Kyrie will start being a little more vocal about his thoughts on his current organization

In Cleveland, concern is so high that Luol Deng won't re-sign that the Cavs have made him available to several teams, sources confirm.

Cleveland gave up multiple picks for Deng and now faces the prospect of him leaving them with no return on that investment.

There was a report somewhere, forgot when that Waiters is available as well.

Gordon for Deng in one trade

Waiters for AFA in another trade

Works in the trade machine! haha

Seems like they want to recoup a pick or something.

The Bulls acquired the right to the Sacramento Kings’ first-round pick, which is top-12 protected in 2014, top-10 protected from 2015-17 and then becomes a second-round pick if not used by then, and two second-round picks the Cavaliers had acquired from the Trail Blazers in 2015 and 2016.

How long will the Kings be bottom 10? That could be 3 2nds they gave up, or mid 1st and 2 2nds. I wonder if Gordon, PJ and a 2nd would do it. No one is giving them anything more than a 2nd to rent Deng for half a year.

The Nets and Kings are on the verge of completing the Marcus Thornton for Jason Terry and Reggie Evans deal, sources confirm.

I don't know how much the Cavs want to move Jarrett Jack, but they were kicking around Marcus Thornton for Jack, seemingly to trade long contract for short contract, so maybe you can make Deng for Gordon happen by taking on Jack too.

In the trade machine it says that Deng can't be traded in combination with another player. Do you know why that would be?

Once you get traded, you can't be packaged with any other players for I believe 60 days. You can still achieve most of the same end results with separate trades though:

Trade 1: Gordon for Deng
Trade 2: Aminu + Roberts for Jack

bringing jack back and resigning him to be the backup PG next year would be good for this team's growth. He's a great leader and he still has some left in the tank to produce off the bench. With that trade (and resigning Deng) this is your potential squad:

PG: Holiday/Jack/Rivers
SG: Reke/Morrow
SF: Deng/Babbitt
PF: Davis/Anderson
C: Smith/Stiemsma/Withey

Can we trade for Noah AND Thibs?

Jack doesn't need to be resigned, he's on a 4 year 25mil contract.

I'd be ok Deng for Gordon straight up because fits the team culture of NOLA much better than EG. Waiters would obviously have to get shipped out in another deal, Pels or not and I'm not sure I want him if we could get picks instead.
