As I have said in other threads: there is more nurturing, more teacher instruction, and more sense of community or belonging in CHS or St joes, also if you have a son, he can have have the sex with St joes

BRMHS isn't that great, look into McKinley gifted.

Well with BRMHS changing its selection process, it's gonna be an all out brawl with parents trying to get their kids into the academic magnet feeder schools now.

We plan on having our first child later this year and were already have a gameplan school wise.

If we are still living in EBR parish, we're gonna go the academic magnet school route or The catholic school route. (We belong to st Jude parish)

Academically

1. EHS
2. BTR HIGH
3. CATHOLIC
4. Runnels

Mercy to Catholic/St Joes is good route.

Dunham is great if you have a special needs and/or sensory child. Good all around education but expensive.

The gifted program schools are all OK but have heard that the kids are really ahead in the sexual dept.

University is good if you want your kids to be good at sports - you asked about athletics. Not a good academic school and I know some parents not happy with direction the school is headed.

Have one friend with kids at Sherwood and they are happy.

UHigh is becoming extremely athletic heavy. I have relatives that's been on the waiting list there for years....but if your child is a football monster in the pee wee leagues, they will let you transfer at the end of the semester from a bad public school, but that's another story.

Some of my wife's younger cousins go to Runnels...and they are WEIRD AS FUKKKKKK

Private schools also have more fun envioremtns, you wont be one in a crowd like at BRMHS. CHS has football games, dances, mixers, clubs, but its also 10000 a year.

Not really. It is a magnet school so gives preference to kids in the academic magnet track. Kids in gifted are channeled to McKinley or Woodlawn. I have had several kids graduate from McKinley (gifted/talented) and one close to finishing at BRMHS. The gifted teachers at McKinley are excellent and the Principal (Mr. Brown)is a joy to be around but I would still recommend BRMHS for any student that is really after a college prep experience and appreciates a diverse student body.
