Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius says there is “absolutely no evidence” that the Affordable Care Act will drive down employment, despite a report from the Congressional Budget Office released Feb. 4 predicting fewer people would be working.

“There is absolutely no evidence, and every economist will tell you this, that there is any job-loss related to the Affordable Care Act,” Sebelius told reporters in Orlando, Fla., on Monday.

The CBO report said the health care law will cause Americans to cut their work hours, equating to 2 million fewer jobs in 2017. That number is predicted to eventually rise to the equivalent of 2.5 million jobs in 2024.

job-loss

this phrase is her out

she can say what she did, and still say that she didn't claim there would be no harmful impacts on employment

Classic leftist tactic - argue there is a consensus to cut off debate - like the "consensus" on AGW - because they do not recognize any of the dissenters.

When CEOs are out there - almost on a weekly basis, stating - they're not hiring, they're not expanding, they're moving people to part-time - all because of ACA, that's pretty strong evidence for the fecal nature of her talking points.

Why was the employer mandate bumped so many times? To mitigate the impact until another (and another) election cycle. If there is no employment impact, this wouldn't be necessary, now, would it?

Eh, if they had confidence in that being the case, they wouldn't be forcing companies to sign a sworn statement that their layoffs weren't due to the ACA.

Good to see Sebelius finally escaped from under the rock she's have been living under for the past three months.
