First of all I know most everybody agrees its fake..etc etc. But for those that watch it....the show seemed to skip a bit of information that made it difficult to watch. Two weeks ago the young guy bought out his "landlord" and said that he had two weeks to go to get his 800 ounces before winter set in. Go to the next show and, boom, its winter, ground is frozen, extremely hard to dig etc. What the frick happened in-between? Did it freeze the next day after he paid the landlord or did the editors just skip a couple of weeks? Seems like it happens very season that they skip like this.

I've watched it faithfully since its inception...The producers must really want people to quit watching.

So I am correct in that the editors just skipped a major part of the season? Just ignored it and went straight to frozen tundra?

The only ones I some what like are the Dakota Boys they seem to some what have their shite straight. Parker needs a beating some how he gets good despite himself. The Hoffmann are a ficking dumpster fire, dude has no clue what he is doing.

You hear this 10x an episode "that's great ground"

My cousin watches this show and tries to put it on when I come over and tell me about it. I just can't get into it at all. he's really invested in it for some damn reason, I wish some hard proof would come out that discredits it so I can counter him with it.

Don't know what the hell they are doing. No different than any other scripted for drama reality show though.

They've pretty much worn out their welcome around here.

It's actually the Hoffman's show, they own the rights to it and they get paid handsomely by Discovery per episode which is why they would take a gigantic risk in going to South America and also why they drag their feet without any sense of urgency...the other story lines also get compensated but nowhere near the Hoffman's and they actually need to find gold to make it

I was excited when the show was starting. All I really wanted was to see some success. What do we get? A bunch of morons who can barely dress themselves much less find any gold. I was also disappointed to learn that gold mining was not what I thought it was. I thought it was all nerd-candy size nuggets, not this fricking sand. But that's not the shows fault I suppose. But they damn sure take the blame for the boring, awfully predictable failures. I absolutely hate this show. Not as scripted as jungle gold, or bamazon or whatever the hell it was, but absolutely atrocious.

I DVR it and only watch the clean outs. I like seeing the gold at the end, but I skip all the drama and "show".

Parker Schnabel don't need money, his family owns half the heavy industry around Haines, Ak. He's a pretty ambitious kid though, reminds me of his grandfather.

I like Parker. He is going to be a success at whatever he decides to do.

Perhaps. His decision making is terrible and he has a hard time listening to advice from people that obviously are giving good advice.

What kind of special dumb arse doesn't pay attention to the most important piece of equipment in the jungle when he's clearing brush.

Secondly, how do they get all that equipment to that mud laden site? You can't even drive a mile without getting stuck. How did they get the equipment hundreds of miles to the site?

pretty sure they said he had 3 weeks left in the season. The "season" isn't set in stone it is all dependent on the weather. I would think they get early snows and freezing temps...the show tries to add drama (i hate that).

The Hoffmans are clowns.

He'll learn. His grandfather was a hard nose M'fer. He'll be successful, it's in his genes.
