Either the 6.8 or .308 in AR platform will be my next build. Is the 6.8 dying out or picking up steam? I know it's a little more expensive than the .308 but that doesn't worry me as much as availability does. Which is a better round for hunting if I choose to do so with the rifle?

.308

Rize and I were talking about that 6.8 recently. That's a dumb cartridge. Almost as dumb as the .40 S&W

Am I correct on this?:::

6.8 fits the AR 15 platform along with the 5.56

.308 fits the AR 10 platform.

.308 bullets are cheaper/available, but the build would be much more expensive.

I would go .308 if I were you. The 6.8 shoots a .27 cal bullet around 2500 fps and was made to maybe take the place of the 5.56.

.308 is cheaper and more readily available.
