LSU basketball... I'm disappointed in this season

I don't think Johnny is a very good defensive coach. He needs help and I'll think he'll get it after this offseason.

But I have to believe this program is heading in the right direction. There's an identifiable problem. It just needs to get fixed. We are an NIT team this year.

I believe Johnny is the man for this job. If we get Treloar... WATCH OUT

To get the guy you want, will Jones have to let one of his current coaches go?

Seriously, are you related to him?

Who is Treloar? Charlie Leonard needs to take an administrative role and open up a spot.

I agree about Jones. I am immune to what happens the rest of the season because at some point during his tenure I told myself "If Johnny Jones can't do it here, then who the frick can we realistically hire that can?" He is our Hugh Freeze. Though he has his flaws, Jones is a dynamic recruiter and wants to be here.

Who has underachieved more this season?

Johnny Jones?
Scott Drew?
Mark Gottfried?

No one should be surprised Gottfried is already wetting himself, and Jones hasn't had the time Scott Drew has. It's got to be Scott Drew

From what he's shown this year, does anyone feel like jones is an elite coach?

He's a great recruiter

I tried to answer your question to me late in the game in the game thread.

I think we're all disappointed. We are ready for some basketball excitement, and this season has been a big let down. It's been since 2009 since we had anything remotely close to exciting about our basketball program.

Maybe next year, sigh.

I really don't think LSU will ever bring in an "elite" coach, so no he isn't elite. Dale Brown was never elite, but we would all be very content with his success and expectations. I think with some serious revamping of our defense, he could be like Dale

No but he's an assistant we can get and afford.

One of the best bench coaches around. Was LSU assistant in the 2 most successful seasons in recent memory.

in fact, i think the only years he was here, we were awesome. Coincidence? I think not.

No. I'm not. Who has he actually signed that's elite? Simmons is luck cause his parrain is on staff. Not hard to recruit. Who else is elite?

I am highly disappointed after all the hype. I have a issue with how we have regressed midseason and I think this year jones has been terrible in game coaching. Last year he was pretty good in game at coaching adjustments. this year he is lost for whatever reason. We clearly have more talent and we at least appear to be better on the offensive end but defensively we are down right atrocious. we don't close out well at all, we play lazy legs straight, hands down defense. I think the recruiting looks good. I really hope Jones can turn around his coaching

Jordan Mickey is widely considered the most underrated freshman in the country. Jarrell martin could have just about gone anywhere. Ohio State actually really wanted Elbert Robinson. Plus Josh Gray is the best player in the juco ranks.

I'll just stop there
