3-point shooting is a lot better than i thought it was. Looks to me like we could use a strong inside presence on that right block.

Also, aminu and tyreke are killing us

Aminu:

Tyreke:

Maybe this is what monty is seeing

Those are actually really good 3pt % numbers. Whats funny is that our lowest percentage from 3 is from the corners which sre the "easiest" 3. Ive actually read that the corner 3 is the most efficient shot in basketball. And yeah..our interior scoring is pretty low. Not surprising however if you look at our roster.

EG has a funny chart, unable to hit corner 3s but on fire from up top:

Jrue:

By the shotcharts, I'm lead to believe that the faults of this team are largely in the 2&3 positions. Here's some unlikely trade targets that look like they would improve the team as a whole by bringing some necessary inside presence at the 2 & 3:

Wilson Chandler:

Gerald Green:

Gerald Henderson:

Terrence Ross:

Nick Young:

Other good candidates that fit are Luol Deng, Demar Derozan, Gordon Hayward, Mo Harkless, and at worst shawn marion or rudy gay also seem to fit.

My ideal situation would be to let go of reke/EG+aminu+stiemsma and pick up an inside bruiser and two of the SFs with the shotcharts above. Once ryno comes back, 3s will be in a surplus

Been advocating for Wilson Chandler for two years now.

He has the physical ability to defend a little down low and on the perimeter - which is the perfect compliment to Anderson defensively; allowing Ryno to defend the worst of the Forwards.

But he's not a stiff offensively.

He can put the ball on the deck, and can hit a corner-3 as well.

Although, he is not an incredibly efficient player - doesn't create for others, doesn't create turnovers - but plays really solid on-ball defense and his salary is appropriate for what he does - around $6.85 million if my memory serves me right

Omer asik on the right block and AD on the left block and an EG for chandler trade, moving reke into the starting lineup plus a restocking of the bench with someone like terrence ross, nick young, or mo harkless would "fix" us for a while imo.

Asik is making a modest $5,225,000 this season, but next year it bumps up to $14,898,938 — however only $8,374,646 would count towards the salary cap.

So, even next season, asik and wilson chandler would count against the cap as much as EG.

René + Asik would be awful on offense.

Wilson Chandler is injury prone the last thing we need on this team

This is so fricking stupid.

Do you know rare it is to find someone to play 78+ games every year?

Brook Lopez has four years of playing 75+ games, but in his other two years has probably played just 20 combined. Is he injury prone?

What about Davis and the injuries he's had to begin his career?

Played almost all Denver's games this season. He's not any more injury prone than EG and he actually can play a position of need. His injury last year also isn't degenerative like knee cartilage can be.

None of these options are Hibberts or Batums or Horfords, but we don't have the pieces to acquire those types of players.

The area where Asik would help wouldn't just be on offense where he shot a good % inside last season for the rockets. He'd help tremendously with guarding the paint. We're getting killed inside. AD doesn't want to guard big Cs.

i'd even do asik+Lin+this year's pick for EG+Smith straight up.

I'd be happy with a retooled bench and a staring lineup of:
Jrue
Reke
Chandler/Derozan/Deng/Hayward
AD
Asik
lineup with ryno playing starter minutes playing in the final minutes when it's benificial.

What these charts tell me is that the Pelicans built a team based on guards attacking the rim. Unfortunately none of the big money guards are converting there at a high enough rate to make it a truly dominant attack.

Evans and Gordon are historically much, much better at the rim. Holiday has always been mediocre to poor there.

Aminu's shot chart is basically the same as JJ Hickson's. Hickson is better in the Non RA Paint and Aminu takes more 3s. Again Aminu is a 4 in a 3's body. At this point, pretending otherwise is willful ignorance.
