This was a couple weeks ago. O'Leary is defending capitalism here but we need someone like Milton Friedman who can articulate the virtues of the free market in a likable way. Personally I don't object to O'Leary's style but many others do, which may or may not be good for the cause of economic freedom.

yeah these old rich white guys making the rounds saying "we should be copied" lately are doing a bad job. their PR is terrible
the discussion isn't about rich v. poor or poor v. rich. the discussion should be about opportunities to better yourself
those opportunities are found with less government restrictions and more economic freedom. first you start with private property ownership, private property rights, and the state staying out of the economy except to protect private contracts.
then you bring up stats, like the massive numbers of people leaving poverty in India and China due to both governments loosening their grip on the economy. the stats about India are insane (largely due to its insanely high population).
you want people out of poverty? don't prevent them from getting out of poverty by allowing government to keep them there. this isn't about the 1%; this is about government

O'leary's character is essentially the grinch - hes clearly doing whatever he deems necessary to enhance said character.
Think about it in pro wrestling terms - sometimes those guys will do "non wrestling" interviews as themselves, and sometimes as their character. I view this as the latter.

He is a turnaround specialist. If I needed one, he would be the guy b/c he doesn't act on emotion - only straight business.
Naturally, that makes him an a'hole in some people's eyes which is ludicrous.
