Ever a chance of having Frank Wilson and Larry Porter at LSU?

Surely it's been asked before.
Did we make an effort to get Porter after his career at Memphis?

If I remember correctly, the majority on here are strongly against Porter coming back.

Only way Porter returns to LSU is if Frank leaves.

Why is porter disliked by some?

Larry porter was a RB coach and we have always had good RBs

recruiting wise they could in theory be dominant together...in actuality you never know if they would clash...both are the same person/recruiting coordinators who coach RB's...
With Cam at the helm I am sure he would much rather a great position coach who can teach the true fundamentals of his position with an ability to recruit. As oppose to a guy who sits on the roster for no other purpose but to recruit while posing as a position coach at another position.
As for Larry coming back it would be hard for a man like him to just come back to a situation where his role would be even further lessened when he was trying to branch out in the first place and assume more control and responsibility.
You also have to consider Frank in all this...it could be incredibly offensive to him to try to bring in his predecessor into what is now his role and imply in any way he may need more help by bringing in an expert at something he specializes in.
so in theory it sounds great...in reality and usefulness its a potentially very toxic idea.

quote:Porter is strictly a RB coach. What's he going to do at LSU, be the co-RB coach with Wilson? Played favorites and politics with the RB rotation while here. Never should have even been in consideration for the Memphis job, but if he doesn't leave, LSU doesn't hire FW.

Braveheart, my coach is far better than these two. If he gets the job, he will do the recruiting, plus the coaching.
