2 year degree help

Got hurt at work. Had shoulder surgery a year ago, re-tore part of the capsule last fall. Now I am stuck with permanent restrictions of 30 lbs maximum lift on that shoulder. I cannot go back to my old job(O&G) because of this. Workman's comp is paying for retraining. However will they only pay for a 2 year degree. Now I am trying to figure out the best field going forward. Any ideas on the best available with only a 2 year degree?
Cliffs: Got hurt, Cant work old job, getting 2 years of school paid for, what field should I decide on?

Should have mentioned this. ITT is off the table. As it turns out, it is more expensive than a traditional 2 year school. They wont pay for it.

"Corporate" schools like ITT and U. Phoenix are very expensive.

Trade school?
Or maybe some sort of biological science degree, not a lot of lifting mostly bench type work.

Good field, will give you a leg up on other roughnecks. The amount of graduates in PETE at LSU is going to skyrocket in the next 2 years, though.
FWIW, i don't see you advancing very much with that degree.

And essentially a scam.
If op wants to do tech he should look into local community colleges. Not only would he benefit from smaller classes it's likely he could pick up a couple of certificates while getting his aas.
If op it's a good self motivator and learner, then he could look into western governors university... 6 month terms, no limit on classes per term, all online, professional cert exams paid for with tuition.

honestly, a two year degree is not worth much in fields that typically require a batchelors...you could try something that will teach you a trade, though...
you may be able to find some place that teaches drafting, etc. if you are wanting to get back into the workforce quickly....
if you have a bit of time, you may be able to get a two year degree with the intent of just using it as a stepping stone to a batchelors...

I would look really hard into what Hammertime posted. Call and ask Nicholls how their graduates do with job searches after. Also may be an opportunity to build on experience you already have.
My cousin got a 2 year in something involving electrical work I think. Long story short he makes like 85K now.

Did you take ACT or SAT? What kind of scores?
Not flaming, seriously, just curious so I know how to point you in the right direction

28, graduated with a 3.86 from a prep school in VA. Flamed out of college because I just became tired of school. Also was taking college classes in the 9th grade.
Intelligence is not the problem.
