Im thinking of going either with the swordsman or warrior.
I dont care for magic very much so going with a sword and shield only is find with me.

my strongest characters always end up being mages of some sort.
I may do a warrior of some kind initially just because it's more satisfying to slug it out.

The part that annoys me most about that area are the goddamn skele archers who are crack fricking shots in pitch black.

Yeah, first time I went to open that chest in Sen's and it attacked me I was PISSSSSSED. The first encounter with the skeleton wheels in Aramis wasn't pleasant either. Actually, I can't think of many pleasant encounters in that whole game.
I'm going to be a little behind on DS2 b/c for some reason I've yet to finish the DS DLC.
Just haven't been able to get around to it with the backlog and focusing on other games.

I've got this shite pre-ordered yesterday. I'll probably not do anything with the free weapons code. I want my first experience to be as natural as possible. Aside from character creation, I know nothing about the story or anything in the game.

I was thinking warrior. Sword + shield quality build. Seems to me to be the safest on first playthrough. Then I'll try a sexy dual swordsman (woman).

The mimic in Sens Fortress got me long before the mimic in Anor Londo after the archers. Scared the crap out of me, checked every single chest in the game after that point.

This. Became habit to take a swing at all chests before opening them.... I'm actually playing through DS again, hope to finish the playthrough before it comes out. Can't wait
