no, but mine did run out as I had a 5 year degree programs...stafford loans and pell grants

Nah. I knew a couple of pretty intelligent people that lost TOPS. It has more to do with not applying oneself at all to school. This means skipping lots of classes and rarely studying.
I would say that if you lose TOPS then it would be a good idea to take a step back and reevaluate your priorities and life because your actions are indicating that you really just don't give a shite about school. Or maybe you are just really bad at the whole school thing.

Lost it after 3 semesters. retook a class along with 3 other classes (total of 12 hours), but the class I retook didn't count as part of the 12. They said only 9 hours counted that semester, and I fell out of full-time student classification. You don't get suspended for this, and you can't appeal it. You're just dropped. Wasn't too happy.
Luckily I have great parents who helped pay my way through college. $3,000/semester.

What do you have to maintain to keep tops at LSU? Also what scholarships are available for freshmen?
