once again the lack of defensive fundamentals is 6thgrade level

I honest to god have never seen abasketball team so bad at all phases of defense.
The press cant work because we jump on the initial trap which allows the other team a 5 on 3.
Our guards wont stop chasing on the screen instead of going under amd making team hit jumpers insead of layups.
Our help side rotation is nonexistent.
I love lsu basketba.. and this is the most frustrated ive ever been with any lsu bball team.
We should be a team that shuts dowm other teams and we are consistently giving up over 80 to absoluteky horrible offensive teams.
Its embarassing and its another year of no ncaa tourney. Its so.....so.......sigh

I feel your pain. Sorry lsu basketball just cant have nice things.

lack of foot speed and quickness is a detriment; agreed that these guys are sorely lacking in defensive fundamentals for a zone or man (guess all they did was play offense in h.s.!)

What baffles me is that we were better last year, and that team had a Tuba player getting substantial PT.

this team is pushing me towards giving up. they are that bad at the smallest things. it is truly embarrassing how bad we play with so much talent

A zone beats am and bama.
But here's the thing..our guys have 0 idea how to run a zone. They have 0 intensity and never ever stop the high post flash and when ball is in middle of zone it collapses and layups occur.
So we go to man..but instead of playing a soft man and under everything we either chase screen or switch and have our bigs ty to stop a guard (and we have0 idea how to play angles) and causes our bigs to have foul trouble.
THERE IS 0 REASON FOR OUR GUARDS TO PLAYSO LAZY.its amazing how they never figt through one frickimg screen. Job has some dumb fouls but our guards put him in bad spots majority of game

Don't forget to add that Martin might be one of the laziest basketball players in the country.
While his offense isn't great, it is abundantly clear that Jones and his staff can either not coach defense, or choose to hold nobody accountable for the piss-poor fundamentals and effort night after night

And what's even worse is that we are giving up 80+ to teams that flat suck offensively in bama uga and a&m. Now we have arky Florida and Kentucky all on the road coming. All 3 liable to score 100.

Chalk up another loss to ARK next! NIT if they are even lucky. If you can't win on the road, you got no business in either tournament.
