If you're old enough to remember the fab 4, this has been a very touching event. Star studded band and audience. And a tremendous reminder of exactly how much this band meant to western pop music.

Loved it and I was born 17 years after they broke up. It's staying on my DVR.

Crickets. Jesus I must be old, at some point people will realize what the Beatles meant to everything we recognize as great music today.

I have the anthology DVD set (10 hour documentary) and it gave me a pretty good idea of how big they were. But I'll never understand completely because 1) I wasn't actually there to witness it and 2) I have nothing in my generation to compare it to

Its OK to discuss the Beatles anywhere IMO. No one comes close if you ask me...not even Zeppelin. And I love some zeppelin too.

It was really good. Annie Lennox absolutely killed it.

at some point people will realize what Elvis meant to everything we recognize as anything related to music today.

Not trying to take away from the Beatles. Just throwing in my 2 cents. We all watched the special and I posted quite a bit in the in game thread.

There was a lady in a black dress with short black hair sitting next to Barbara Bach that looked awfully familiar. Anyone remember whom this was?

Elvis was different but he didn't change the game like The Beatles did. The Beatles changed music, fashion, society, etc. Whatever the Beatles did, everyone else did it with them.

Just watched. It was awesome and I don't even like the Beatles all that much.

And to America back in that era. I loved the clips from the Ed Sullivan Show. So much great energy. It was a moving and nostalgic tribute, but it was a little sad that John and George were missing from among the still-living on-stage. I missed them.

I guess I wish CBS had captioned the names of the various performers, esp. the younger ones, for those of us from the Beatles' era who have sort of lost touch with modern groups and artists.

I just turned 24 and take it from me there are many in my generation, myself included, that love the Beatles. They, more than any other musical group, have transcended generations.
