It was brought up in the in game thread. If continue this play, how many seasons does he last? I say he is going nowhere as long as Ben Simmons is coming to LSU, which means at least 2 more seasons after this one.

I agree, the year Simmons comes in would be do or die at this rate.

Depends if he keeps calling timeouts. To break our momentum

No clue. I'm worried that his leash is long due to him being an LSU guy. It still pisses me off how that whole coaching search went down. Dale, Collis, et al acted like children in order to get "their guy" in the seat.

What makes you think he'll stick with his commitment? The way this program looks at times?

i think our guard play is extremely weak. BUT the defensive deficiencies are a product of poor coaching and lack of focus by the players. Too many sloppy passes, lazy defense, and NO MOVEMENT ON OFFENSE.

PG brings it down, dumps it in to JOB....everyone watches...double/triple team comes....JOB wildly throws it out... 3pt...brick...rebound to opposition

Maybe when they fire Johnny Jones, they can hire Ray Nagin? He should be available by then.

David Patrick (LSU assistant) is his godfather (and maybe, probably the guy throwing some cash his way). Don't think he'll change

You guys are over reacting. He's only been here 1 full season and a nit berth would be a good achievement for these players. Give it time.

Just like an attempt was made in the 80's, we need Leon Barmore. He's an assistant at Baylor. He'd take LSU this time. Keep Jones as an arse't , if he would do it, and keep that LSU alumni appreciation going.

As I said in another thread . The college game is dominated by guard play. We are very guard poor at the moment. He has recruited that position for next few years. That will tell the tale.

Donnie Tyndall (currently at Southern Miss) was begging for the job. Begging to get an interview but we refused. Look at the kind of ball southern miss is playing this year. Pisses me off we have a basketball AD but somehow we still can't get a good coach

Please stop. Coach Jones will be at LSU for at least 5 more years.

This is incorrect. Johnny has made horrible in game decisions and the team has regressed in conference play. A Top 5 recruiting class in college basketball should mean a NCAA tournament birth. This is not football.

The worst part is when JOB, Martin, and Mickey all leave for the NBA we will be worse next year. I am not sure what you do at that point.

The piss poor coaching search took place when Trent Johnson was named head coach 6 years ago. Tony Bennett- now head coach at Virginia wanted the LSU job in the worst way. He interviewed here and begged for the job. Alleva (a basketball guy from a basketball school) said no way. Bennett is now locked in with a multiyear deal at UVA. If Johnny does not work out - All this bullshite falls in the lap of our AD.

I will say that Trent was actually considered a good hire at the time... Sadly, we quickly found out that wasn't the case

CJJ is not going anywhere soon. He will hire a bench coach and be fine. This team has has potential to get hot, they have shown flashes. We play like we did against Kentucky we could win the SEC tourney. When you fire a coach 18 months after you go to the final four with your best two players out for the year this is what you get. I said it when they fired Brady it would set the program back 5 years and here we are.
