Hands down the greatest headset out there. I picked up one from BestBuy with some of my tax return money and it's easily the best $270 i've spent on gaming related items. My wife will hate them because they are surround sound headphones with built in noise cancellation. So I can't hear a fricking thing when these bad boys are on (except the game, etc.)

You are wanting to build a gaming PC on a budget but then drop $270 on some Astros?

Makes sense...

I think $700 should be good enough for a gaming PC. I had $1000 budget from the tax return, so I dropped some change on a sweet arse headset for my streams.

I love my Astro A50's for the wireless.. plus you get the long extension cable and you can charge on the fly.. but they hold a charge for forever!

The best part about the Astros is the actual comfort, you don't even notice they are there.. whereas say a Turtle Beach feels like it is pressuring your head and they get hot.

Man, you could have gotten some awesome headsets for much less than the Astros but to each their own

I have the A40 and they are indeed awesome, but they are not noise canceling. Only the mic is noise canceling.

And you over paid. They are 250 straight from Astro yet you paid 270?

Are you planning on using this headset for the PS3-PS4? If not you just wasted about $140. I have the exact same headset without the mixamp and got it for $120.

This. I've yet to feel any discomfort at all while wearing my A40's and I've worn them for 5 hours at certain points.

I stream all the time, so yea I got the mixamp to go with the headset. This way I can have music, the game, and chat audio all running through the headset.
