Easily 10-12 BRPD units there, all with lights flashing.

Seriously? How many cops does it take to manage a wreck?

Is it a bad wreck. I would think with as much cop bashing as goes on here, people would appreciate cops doing something other than shooting dogs and checking inspection stickers.

That's pretty close to the training facility, maybe they're teaching the newbies how to clog traffic.

Could be shift change and all cops have to check in with the supervisor. Happened to me once, you would have thought I was driving a Krispy Kreme delivery truck.

only if the crash scene takes up said "14 lanes". DOT doesn't allow emergency vehicles to block all lanes of traffic unless its absolutely necessary, and even then they have a limited amount of time to clear it.

Considering there about about 14 lanes of travel, they have to block each one of the lanes or dumb drivers drive through the crash scene. They're too stupid to drive around or outright avoid the area completely.

That 10-12 units I referenced? That wasn't an exaggeration. At least a half dozen of them appeared to be stacked in the inside westbound lane, too. Almost looked like a checkpoint.

I worked in 4 different traffic divisions in a large city in California. The officers in Louisiana especially the BRPD officers do not have proper training that larger departments have.

They just do not have the skills, knowledge, or training like departments in larger cities. That is why you have 6 officers going to an accident that 4 officers or less can handle in a more experienced department.

Pretty sure that was the end result of a vehicle pursuit, if that helps you cop haters understand it any better.

Hey fricktard, there were (6) units on scene because it was a pursuit involving an armed wanted fugitive.

I would not expect a pussy former traffic cop like you to have any idea what cop shite like that is about.

Ammunition theft leads to high-speed chase

Police arrested a 19-year-old man Wednesday accused of stealing ammunition from Academy Sports + Outdoors, then leading officers on a pursuit around the city with two young children inside his vehicle.

Baton Rouge police booked Otis Dunn III, N. 13th St., Port Allen, into Parish Prison on counts of child desertion, resisting an officer by force or violence, battery on a police officer, aggravated burglary, aggravated assault, possession of a firearm by a felon and two other fugitive counts, according to an affidavit of probable cause.

After a confrontation with store loss-prevention officers, Dunn ran out to the parking lot of the Airline Highway store and jumped into his car. He is accused of running multiple red lights while fleeing police before crashing at Florida Boulevard and North Lobdell Boulevard. Dunn fled the crash scene on foot, leaving behind two children, 1 and 4 years old, and a 20-year-old woman, the affidavit said.

An officer chased Dunn into a backyard in the 100 block of Linda Street, where Dunn ignored verbal commands and punched the officer several times before he was handcuffed, the affidavit said.

Dunn remained jailed Thursday night in lieu of $93,000 bail, prison records show.

And I would wager that not one is directing traffic or even the least bit concerned about it. In fact, I truly believe they get satisfaction even pride out of seeing who can generate the biggest snarl in traffic and brag about it to one another.

"Hey, did you see that fricked-up traffic from the wreck on Florida and Lobdell this morning? Heh-heh, that was me."
