Limit, 1000 years either way. All you could do is observe, not interact in any way to change anything while there or after you come back. You would immediately die if you attempted to use the knowledge for any sort of personal gain.

I'm going for future. It'll be interesting to see what society is like after several hundred years. Of course it could be very very depressing too. And being unable to warn anyone of future events would be a bummer.

I'm changing my mind. It'll be the past.

id go to the past and learn the truth about religion, come back to the present, spread my knowledge and die, and go down in history as a modern day prophet.

Gotta keep people from profiting with their knowledge of the future for that would change the future.

Nope, as soon as you tried to do it you would die. :)

Could I give someone I know personal gain tips, and in turn they give me money? Or would I immediately die that way also?

There's always a loophole.

Yeah, if you see the future it would be impossible to not use that information in some fashion.

If you travel to the future you'll obviously have to travel back to the past.

I'd like to make an amendment to the rules... if you decide to time travel... you die.

1000 years is cheap.

I'd want to go back and see if Jesus Christ existed and if any of the miracles were actually performed.

But since it's 1000 years
I'd go into the future and see what my legacy on earth resulted in

Y ou say that. But, I highly doubt it.

Also, I follow the Louis C.K. rule of thumb on time travel. LINK
