ESPN Eval of position groups by class (Receiver) -- LSU # 1

"While the Baylor Bears had an exceptional wide receiver class, the nod here goes to LSU. Not only did the Tigers sign the nation's No. 1 receiver in Malachi Dupre (River Ridge, La./John Curtis Christian), but also the No. 3 ranked receiver Trey Quinn (Lake Charles, La./Barbe), and ESPN 300 No. 271 D.J. Chark (Alexandria, La./Alexandria Senior) and No. 283 Tony Upchurch (Pearland, Texas/Dawson). In Dupre, LSU snagged the No. 17 prospect overall on signing day. He has tall, lengthy frame with a near ideal size-and-speed combination and elite high-point ball skills. Quinn will enter LSU as an advanced route runner with separation skills and the ability to pluck the ball outside of the framework of his body. Chark brings initial quickness and the vertical speed to take the top off a defense, and Upchurch is a big body who continues to add bulk and could eventually transition to a flex type of position.
The Tigers had the nation’s best wide receiver class; here’s which schools had the best in each of the remaining power conferences: "

think there will be a QB battle this spring. Awesome receivers so will be interesting to see which QB is at the helm. Brandon has a good shot at getting the start

Excited to see Quinn. I think this guy is very polished, and will probably run the best routes of any receiver on the roster. Not to mention, he will catch everything.

Malachi looks faster this year than last to me. Don't know what his 40 would be, but he's a very smooth runner.

They could add JWashington who shined at the allstar practice as a TE among receivers

malachi's high school program and stress on the small things will help him play early. Long story short, he can run block and isn't afraid to.
Quinn knows how to get open. He was the primary target this year and still managed to get open enough to break all time records
We couldn't have signed two better elite prospects in my mind. They fit our mold exactly.
Upchurch will be an animal. I want to see how he grasps the offense first by hearing about early fall practices to say whether or not I think he red-shirts and takes on a "dural role"
chark needs size to get off the ball but I swear i see chevis jackson all over this kid.

But seriously he is really good at those things. He also happens to be our fastest recruit.

I also like what the group brings to the table as a whole. They do not seem to be clones of each other, but a very balanced mix of size, speed, hands, route running, run blocking, you name it. I see red zone targets, I see guys working short, intermediate, and deep routes, I see alot of things that have to have the coaching staff and Coach Cameron very excited!
LSU will continue be a power run oriented attack under Coach Miles, and we have a stable of great backs and offensive lineman. Now with the addition of Coach Cameron and Coach Henry, I think we have offensive balance which will make us harder to defend. You simply cannot stack the box, as the passing game can beat you now. You cannot double team receivers, as the other guy can beat you. You cannot bring in smaller defenders i.e. nickel/dime packages to cover all of our receivers better, as we will run the ball right at you. You cannot leave extra linebackers in for run support, as we can throw the ball now and they will have a hard time covering our receivers. Throw in some very athletic pass catching Tight ends and look out!
It is a great time to be a Tiger fan!

Suprised they didnt mention that he has a 'high motor' and is a 'student of the game'...
Never has a person that runs a sub 4.4 40 and a 10.4 100m been excluded from mention of speed before.

I think any of the big four could end of up starting including Rivers or Rettig.
