My dad taught me everything I know about hunting and fishing. Although he wasn't there when I needed him, he did however teach me to hunt and fish. He also taught me to survive in the woods. Before there is any judgment, I turned out a lot stronger than most. Lets take a trip../.

Drinking beers together in the morning on our camp dock when I was around 14-15. Even though it was just a few, it made me feel like I had reached a new point in our relationship

My favorite thing to do was to see him. He lived 7hrs away, so it was like a once a year or once every 6 months type of deal.

Did more activities with my pow pow than him until I was 15 or so.

why? Where I come from, ponds and lakes are used interchangeably.

My dad and I use to stay up til like 1 or 2 am and watch the tv show F/X. Later we would catch the original Japanese version of Iron Chef.

Good times and great conversations were had with just me and him, which was rare with a family of 7 people.

My Dad had a good job when I was growing up. It might not sound like one to you guys but he was a Contractor that did repair and maintenance work on Poultry houses. He made a killing running his own business in that situation. Anyway when I was 14 in 2001 he had a stroke after open heart surgery and has been paralyzed ever since. I've help take care of my dad for a long time. But it has made up much closer, very much like buddies.

We hunt, we fish, but our most favorite activity is "doubling up" to aggravate my mom. We pull pranks, we do jokes, we do all kinds of stuff, but it isn't a normal day if we haven't had a good natured laugh at her expense.

He is left side paralyzed so he can use his right hand/right leg. One activity we've done lately is he goes golfing with me and a buddy and he drinks our beer and drives the golf car telling dirty jokes. In fact all the jokes I posted in the joke thread here on the OT last week came directly from him.

Just being dad. Teaching things that have still stuck with me to this day. He and my mom moved to La from PA, I was born here.

He loves it here now and can't see how he lived up north for so long. He loves crawfish boils, LSU, the food here, etc. Been here since the early 70s.

We are very close, mostly within the last 20 yrs, but we both really enjoy watching sports together and definitely LSU games.

He's told me a few times that he never got an "instruction book" as a dad but he's a great dad and father.

My sister and I are very lucky and love him dearly. No pics of sister.

Sorry if that's mushy but it's true. My mom taught me (at least I remember) fishing but he taught me saltwater fishing and things like that.

for you, dad.
