Cafe Express..North at 22nd..it's a family run joint.
Lots of good stuff, it's fatty and mediocre grade meats used, but stewed down to great gravy.
Try the smothered pork chops(my fav), beef, or chicken, gravy over rice, yams, white beans, and boiled greens.

Don't even have to go north of Florida for the best soul food plate lunches. Check out the hop-in gas station on Highland Rd. across from weinerschnitzel. Lady in there cooks the best plate lunches I have ever had, I eat it everyday for $6.99.

Table is Bread is meh ... go down a few blocks and hit Bayou Café ... same side of Airline as Table is Bread, across from the farmer's market.
