I read that whole article and sorry, just straight pissed me off. I was around the basketball program behind the scenes when Josh was a senior. He was a good dude, the players seemed to like him, he was cool to me...but he was soooo lazy and entitled. I'm a HUGE Brady basher and will almost never take up for him...but he wasn't all in the wrong here. He and Big Baby almost got in a fight, he got into it with Tack every day, he caused a mutiny because he loved Brandon Bass so much the other players got pissed...he was hard on everyone, Josh wasn't the only one.

But let me tell you the REAL reason Josh Maravich didn't play on Senior night. Are you ready? Josh stopped coming to practice once the SEC schedule started. He said he had mono and he literally did not show up for 2 months. Like not once, but everyone knew he didn't have mono. He walked into the locker room about an hour before the game started against Vandy and Brady just stared at him...like he couldn't believe it. Josh said "where's my jersey?". He goes out for senior day and the places goes crazy. Then Brady for sure wasn't gonna play him and Brady got ripped. It was completely unfair to Brady, and I actually commend him for being above that to not come out to the media and bash Josh.

Josh Maravich was one of the few LSU basketball players I couldn't stand. I heard the same story from players. Randolph was about the only other one I didn't like

This doesn't surprise me at all. You're a walk-on, and D-Mitch lets you score. Yea, Brady is gonna get pissed because a guy who's way better let a lesser player score

I'm not even reading that shite bc it'll piss me off. You have way more inside scoop than me but Brady gets a bad rap IMO. Was he a dick at times to fans? Probably. He was always nice to me. Once picked up Superior's entire tab at his radio show when I was there. He had his shortcomings but he wasn't as bad as people made him out

Damn that is pretty wild. I remember meeting josh a few times at bogies and the first thing out of his mouth every time was how much he hated Brady.

Reminds me of the Dale Brown Lester Earl saga to a smaller degree.
At least we have coaches with character.

It's easy to sense a lot of that is one sided and embellished.

as for not going to practice, he even admitted he shot by himself while practice was going on.

If anyone wanted the could probably go find tape of our games and look for him on the bench and he's not there. Hell, he forced Brady's hand into letting him on the team and then he's upset when Brady doesn't want to play him?

Brady was ridiculous when it came to playing walkons, even in blowouts. I can remember games when stromile was here where lsu would be up 25-35 points and the walkons would only get 45 seconds of playing time. Even in other years when lsu would blowout a team, walkons would barely play. It never made much sense with as much as he complained about the lack of depth during his entire time here. Really not sure why anybody would want to play for the guy.

Sad story in many ways. Glad to hear, though, that Brady wasn't a total arse. As I remember Brady he was, well let's just say, volatile.

I have not seen Trent Johnson or Johnny Jones play the walkons any more frequently than Brady. I agree this seems to be a chronic failing of many coaches.

Or fans put way too much emphasis on playing walkons.

The same with football. The backup qb at LSU should always start according to some fans.

Trent Johnson played walkons all the time. Big minutes too. His teams were so bad and he had so much attention he was forced to. Zach Kinsley, Darren populist to name a couple.

I've known these guys and their mother most of my life and they are very, very good people.

It's not easy to find your identity in the shadow of a legend and it's tough to grow up without a father. Those boys did both.

Jaeson could really fill it up... I have no doubt he still can.

John brady has one hot daughter tho!! But you cant expect to be played just because your a legends son. Like Pierre said his son doesnt see the court sometimes either
