We have been shopping around for a new grill and I wanted to get yalls opinion. We were thinking about some kind of hybrid but don't want to spend a fortune- preferably no more than $400 or so. We would mainly use it for chicken, steak, chops & veggies…

So, F&D Board... what grill would be the best bang for our buck?

I just can't see spending the amount for a grill that Weber likes to charge. Just get you a standard one like this:

Also, don't do gas. The food doesn't compare to charcoal.

Well, if you just take a little care of it it will last you 20+ years and just cook better over time. I used to say shite like this until I bought one. 8 years later I've had to change the battery in the igniter....... that's it.

This. I've never known anyone who purchased a Weber to say, "I wish I had gotten a Charbroil."

I do know some people who have purchased the Weber and said, "I wished I spent the extra money and gotten the next level Weber."

That's funny you say that. I'm thinking about passing the Spirit down to my nephew and upgrading to a Genesis.

I've got a 52" Viking natural gas, a large green egg, a propane char broil and an old brick built pit as well as a $45 Weber Kettle that was bought at Jumbo Sports in BR. That is how old it is and I use it as much as any and it's as good as any.

I love my akorn

It's most of the benefits of a big green egg but costs less than 300 bucks

Obviously it won't last forever like an egg, but I can cook just about the same way the eggs do

I didn't pay this man to say this. I don't even know this man. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.
