So far she isn't really giving Congress anything. A lot more boring than Bernanke but still, I'm glad she isn't giving them really anything to bite on. She kept saying 'validation', 'deliberate', etc..

My favorite quote was actually from Brad Sherman, "I know you're very busy with your job, so I know one of the things you regret is that you can't spend more time with accountants".

Glad some politicians have a sense of humor.

Sorry, always got to give love to Bernake on my name.

The only song name I can think of with Janet was "Damnit Janet" from Rocky Horror Picture Show.

Let me present, The Commodores!

ETA: They'll never be another one like you.
Ja-Janet!

I'm not seeing much incremental information here.

She's more direct than Ben or Alan. She weights labor more heavily than inflation. She agrees the U-3 is an imperfect measure of employment. She doesn't blame the U.S. for the recent EM woes.

It seems she'd distinguish herself most in periods of economic turmoil as opposed to a period of slow recovery. Were she Fed chief in 2008/2009, maybe she'd have acted differently. But do I see her acting more differently than Ben would today? Not really.

What I heard was data suggest not to cut taper, and markets are responding

She couldn't wait until after February options expiration to speak? Wrecked my shorts and VIX trades. If Congress addresses the debt ceiling by Wednesday, the political people, who I have been banking on, will have taken almost all of the profit out of my developing trades.

Hate is such a strong word. I do not care for her right now however.

I'm guessing we won't be hearing "No, my first name ain't "baby", it's Janet...Ms. Yellen if you're nasty!" during any testimony.

Gold.

"Tearing me apart
Somehow I just don't care
She's playing with my heart
But Janet's so aware

And people tell me, she keeps telling you lies
I guess they wonder how I stand it, oh
But when I look in her eyes
I know it's love the way I planned it, I believe in Janet

Janet, they don't understand it
The whole world must be wrong
I gave my heart to Janet
And she won't lead me on, Janet, oh, Janet..."

Her testimony was NOT THE most important event on capital hill yesterday. The house passed a debt ceiling bill that essentially suspends the debt ceiling until March 15, 2015. Debt ceiling much more important than anything coming out of Yellen's mouth.
