Which do you prefer and why?

I'm thinking of switching to p.m.'s due to sleep issues.

I wish I could do mornings, but I am not a morning person. I think it would be so nice to be able to get up and get it out of the way early. I try afternoons, but at least 2-3 times a week something comes up in the afternoon either with work or at home (new baby) that prohibits running.

if I run too late, like 9 pm, it's harder for me to wind down and go to sleep.

During the winter: short runs at night, long runs in the morning

During the summer: all running is done either late, late at night or early in the morning. If I can catch a light rain shower I will run in the rain also.

Mornings. Too much shite gets in the way in the evenings.

Both. Depends on when I have time. Usually do mornings if I know I have a heavy schedule ahead.

I run 2-4 miles in the morning before work on an empty stomach. Its the best time to get your metabolism racing.

I love morning runs, when I am actually able to get out of bed and do them, which is kinda rare, especially in the winter. Just so damn hard to leave a nice warm bed to go run in the cold

When I had the time, I would always run in the evening, but now my evening are just too busy, so I do mostly morning runs. But I haven't been running that much recently. So out of shape.

When I was serious about running it was always very early mornings (other than the dead of winter). It's cooler and less likely to be raining, you have the LSU lakes mostly to yourself, and I've always been a morning person. And a long run keys me up and makes it harder to sleep. And I just liked having it out of the way.

evenings. I can't run right when I wake up; legs are way too tight. if I do a morning workout it's weights.

I prefer evenings. On the weekend usually run in the morning so I can go about my day. I can't jump out of bed and go run like I did ten years ago. I have to wake up eat and drink a little bit. Then go run.

for me, nothing beats a good early morning run. It's a great start to the day and you have the roads all to yourself. You can run in the middle of the road and not have to worry about the crown and don't have to deal with sidewalks. We've got way to much going on to get anything done in the afternoon - I have to get my workouts in while everyone else is still asleep.

Lunch

But if I have to miss a lunch workout, I run in the evenings. I'm not a morning person, at all. When I went back and looked at my mileage over the last several months, it said 75% of my runs were during the day, 25% at night. It's been years since I've run in the morning.
