I like Vilma, but his statement about gays not being as accepted in the locker room as people think was pretty fricking embarrassing.

Why? He has a better knowledge of NFL locker rooms than sportswriters telling you it won't be a problem.

i think widely it its not accepted. You just wont hear many people speak out over it Kudos to Vilma, if that is truly what he thinks.

True but I thought all the stuff about him being uncomfortable if he was changing and the guy next to him was gay he wouldn't know how he felt about that was cringe worthy. The whole "distraction in the locker room" thing is extremely childish IMO

Well it's going to be a distraction. How long depends on him and his teammates.

I think it depends more on the media. If they're not around to continuously bring it up it'll probably blow over after the first couple weeks of camp.

Chris Carr was on The Independents on Fox Business tonight. He had a much better take on it. Sam deserves credit for being willing to take on the extra scrutiny while trying to establish his draft position and place in the league. And if he is a good player, his sexual orientation won't mean a thing to his teammates.

FYI: Carr says he is retired from football.

He was already out to his teammates. He had to get out ahead of the story before the media went public with it. If the dude can ball no one will give a shite if he sucks dick on the side.

Two condoms are walking down the street at night and they see a gay bar. One condom turns to the other and says, "Hey, you wanna go get shitfaced?"

No, but I would hope NFL players wouldn't be so homophobic to be uncomfortable because there is a gay man in the same room while they change. What do they think is going to happen? Catch the gay cooties? But obviously there are still some that can't handle it.

You cant see potential problems? If he were to even pick his head up to look around, i guarantee it would cause problems. Especially for african americans and the inner city guys.. They are much less accepting of stuff like that.

Getting dressed in the locker room is probably the biggest problem any of this will cause.
