Houston texans going with cross fit

sorry no link.
I live in Houston and my boss hooked me up with some kettle bells through his good friend. This good friend owns a fitness company here in town that specializes in rentals and bulk equipment. Long story short he bought out all the Texans current equipment for a little to nothing AND it's all stamped with the Texans logo. It was a huge steal IMHO.
well he asked the team why they were getting rid of everything and it turns out that O'Brien is changing their regimen from heavy lifts to a cross fit base. I'm wondering if this will be a significant improvement in performance and if so, does it take off across the league. I don't know of any teams that do this and it will be interesting watch the texans this year knowing the switch (even though i'm a saints fan). threw in some gifs for your trouble
what do you think?

why would they need different equipment for it?

The Saints did it all offseason this past year. I doubt they sold all the old equipment. That sounds like bullshite because they can still use most of it.

I searched but didn't search "saints crossfit".
what had me thinking is that the Texans even got rid of all their bumper plates too. I would think that's needed in crossfit

maybe they are just getting new equipment and replacing the old stuff. Or your friend is lying to you.

not friend...boss. and those bastards lie all the time.
I did hear on 690am that he went through the facilities taking down all kinds of stuff when he first got here. basically anything that wasn't team related. if it had a specific name (andre,jj or whatever) it was gone.

When I played football in high school we basically did cross fit type workouts. This was probably 3 years before crossfit became a fad. It builds smaller and faster "ripped" athletes and not just huge meatheads.

Honest question, what criteria needs to be met for a workout to be considered crossfit?
Posted on 2/10/14 at 7:03 pm to D011ahbi11
“Constantly Varied, High Intensity, Functional Movement.”

You realize that that's not a crossfit gym, nor do any crossfit gyms have equipment like that, right?
