First of all, props to Michael Sam for being true to himself. Took a lot of courage, and sounds like the dude has been through a lot in his life (per the espn interview).

However, (and please forgive me if I sound insensitive) but very curious to see how many Google results after tommorow come up with..."did you mean...Michael Scott, cultural sensitivity episode. I mean, come on. This sounded too scripted, at least at the end. A lot of athletes are gay, ESPN. That includes the players currently in the NFL. We all know already. They just don't see the need to make a press conference out if it.

Who cares. Time to move on, especially in this era. Just because NBC is stealing your coverage with openly gay, international athletes around the clock, doesn't have to mean you have to break "earth shattering news" to steal some ratings.

Evan Tebow stating he lost
his virginity, or Te'o having a real girl friend wouldn't even have gotten as much coverage (Absolutely kidding)

But do you get my point? Enough off the "orientation" garbage.

Has football season started yet? End of rant/

Trying to bring a little humor to the board. Never up this late, and the wife is passed out. Bored, but mostly dislike how ESPN has become so goddamn political. I only stumble across articles/videos now by accident on Facebook. Will only watch it for MNF these days.

I'm Michael Sam and I am looking to fill all the quotas.

We live in a society where if you are a guy one of the "bravest" things you can do is assert your love of cock and we wonder why the country is fricked.

Before I am misunderstood (not that I give a shite), the treatment of this sort of thing by pop culture is indicative of the rot pervading the country. Him liking dick isn't a big deal one way or the other.

Props to him? For having the "courage" to say he like man love?

I submit it's more "courageous" for someone to say, for instance:

I'm Peyton Manning.
I'm white.
I'm not gay

I'm very, very pro gay rights.

That being said, right now this is a non-issue. I am excited for him, because he is living his dream of becoming a NFL player. Other than that, who cares if you're gay/straight/trans/purple, as long as you can play football.

I hate how a athlete becomes a hero for coming out gay. He should get no press or coverage over this.
