That has cooled the average global temperature by as much as 0.2 degree Celsius (0.36 Fahrenheit) since 2001.

quote:

“The net effect of these anomalous winds is a cooling in the 2012 global average surface air temperature of 0.1–0.2 degree Celsius, which can account for much of the hiatus in surface warming observed since 2001,” the researchers wrote.

The cooling is all a part of global warming.

I wonder what the global warming skeptic deniers will have to say about that? Cuz their usual shtick is that "winter storms in the US doesn't mean that warming isn't occurring" or "You do know its really hot in Australia right now?"

Because the scientists clearly said that since 2001 the GLOBE has cooled!

Doesn't matter.

Of course, we are putting far more pollutants into the atmosphere since 2001, especially when you look at India and China, but the earth has cooled.

It is still man's fault and we will just call it climate change.

A 12-year cooling trend doesn't prove anything.

Uh, yeah it does. It shows that the dooms day idiots 20 years ago were wrong that epic disasters would be occurring by this time and the Gulf of Mexico would be in Kansas and NYC would be a barrier reef. In 1970 they were calling for an ice age based on "science" and in 1990 they were calling for us to boil to death by 2010.

Right. Man made global cooling.

It can only be solved with more taxes and income distribution.

I'm pretty sure that none of you read this article or maybe you didn't understand it. Basically, the cooling is an anomaly.

For extra credit, what was the last line of the article?

Bueller, bueller?

My thought here, and this is mostly for tuba's sake, is that we turn the tables on the bully pulpit.
They continue to insist that you justify yourself without having to explain themselves. So what we need is for the major tenets of AGW to be spelled out and then they can find proof that they're misguided.
This is a theory after all and by nature is subject to reform. We have such brilliance on display, I figure they can help me sleep better tonight knowing that all is OK in the world.
Cheers

This hiatus could persist for much of the present decade if the trade wind trends continue, however rapid warming is expected to resume once the anomalous wind trends abate.

Face it mate, they have no clue. And you might have realized that had you actually understood the article. Like this part . . .
quote:

A key component of the global hiatus that has been identified is cool eastern Pacific sea surface temperature, but it is unclear how the ocean has remained relatively cool there in spite of ongoing increases in radiative forcing.

And to cover their arse the original report added this
quote:

“Volcanoes and changes in solar radiation can also drive cooler decades against the backdrop of ongoing warming,” they said.

I know it came as quite a shock to know we went from rapid warming to cooling in under 20 years, but youre tilting at windmills at this point

Who knows what you're quoting, but it is established fact that the earth is warming.
