I don't think we should enforce our borders, I don't think we should prevent people from crossing the borders illegally at all, we should not build fences, (but I like all of the new fencing in Sochi to keep the terrorists out of there...for the safety of the diplomats) we should not try to catch them once they are here and certainly not deport them if they are identified

even though there are no jobs, we should normalize 10 million new illegals to compete for the shrinking job market, we should allow them to have driver's licenses, participate in government give away programs

they all should be granted full citizenship, even though there are a million applicants in front of them trying to gain citizenship the right way

further I am sick of Republicans making decisions based upon principles, they should make decisions based upon PR, not what is right, or wrong, but whether or not it is offensive to this or that sector

You could if you did 2 things:

1) Remove welfare
2) restore full freedom of association/disassociation

I don't understand the fetishization of immigration by our elites.

You can't have open borders and a welfare state.

And the non contributors here for a free hand out, how do you address them?

Then take the front door off your house/apartment, HG. Same thing, in a microcosm.

Decisions based on pr is definitely the way to go, the economy would be humming in no time, and love would reign.

if our politicians would come around, you would have people in lawn chairs token it up passing ice cold coors over the fence. Bar-b-ques til you drop. True brotherly love would occur by the patriarchs sharing some nice neighborly anus. We would be Kramer's anytown, USA. We could invite our Muslim brothers in and they would become peaceful after witnessing the love. Our biggest worry in life would be when the fricking postman would get here with our weed and condoms.

yes you can. No borders and have one government for all like the UN. Then the UN can take and redistribute the wealth. It is perfect no more greed, no more hunger, no more poverty, free healthcare for all, etc.

I could not type that without

Those that believe in open borders are very simple minded people that can not think on a large scale

I read this post as a joke.

This is satire right?

it is not a joke, but it is satire, which may be contradictory, but...

Wouldn't be necessary under a world/earth order but the reality is that level of progress is hundreds if not a thousand years away. Technological advancement will eventually make many social, economic and political issues obsolete.

all for this. If they truly are disabled (mentally of physically) then they should be taken care. If they are just having kids and pulling a check then nah.

This would get some people off their butts (can't get them all) and go get a job (even a low paying one), which would mean way less job openings, which would mean there would be no reason for illegals to come here because they wouldn't have a job or check to come here for.

More folks working and paying taxes = Better America .

I am inspired by this post. Today I will tear down the fence in my backyard as a protest to our politicians stance on closed borders.

If we have no borders then the government can tax the citizens of Canada and Mexico. Problem solved.
