Ok this movie is pretty much a steaming pile, but I was mildly entertained.. Until future Dr. Smith shows up as the embodiment of evil as a giant cockroach.
I have huge problems with this because Smith was a wily guy in the original show, but hardly so evil as the portray him in the movie. But my real problem is a logistical one.
The transformation was caused by a bite he received early in the film from some kind of space-spider. But when the movie ends, he is still alive and still being held as a captive by the Robinsons... do they kill him right after the credits start rolling or did Dr. Robinson simply forget? Won't he still become the monster? They simply never resolve this huge plot point.

Mimi Rogers and Heather Graham for the win.
I actually liked the movie.

Themovie was such a huge disappointment. I think they planned a sequel but the poor reception nixed that. I think they would have attended to the spider wound at some point in a sequel.

I think this could be a solid reboot.
I honestly thought the story was pretty cool, lots of really interesting concepts. The terrible acting killed it. Matt Leblanc cheese-dicks like a champ in this one. They should have gone for total camp or totally serious, but they tried to have a very serious plot with totally campy dialogue.

Probably because they were hoping for a sequel.

The TV series was better than the movie but I enjoyed the movie regardless. Heather Graham...
