Missed some open 3s but I like what he brings defensively and crashed the boards pretty hard.
Good first game from him.

6 boards and 2 blocks and could have easily had double digits in scoring in just his first game. I was impressed. He played hard

Dude was blanketing on defense, I loved it.

Yeah he played well. He's a hustler. Luke hustler

Monty really liked what he saw because he kept him out on the floor in crunch time.

Nice game and a key put back on AD's drive late in the 4th.

Even though his shot was off, he was still pulling guys out to the 3 point line to guard him. Assuming he ends up hitting in that 35%+ range, that will be all we need from him to open up drive lanes and better ball movement.
The defense and hustle were a plus.

Was a huge reason we won tonight, brought a ton of energy on both ends and was a physical presence around the basket on defense and on the boards all night.
I was really impressed with his play.

Was about say "Holy S***, did you see the spacing he provided? Loved the fact that he doesn't hesitate to shoot.

Luke 'rabbit quick' Babbitt .

Monty loves visible hustle as much or maybe even more than effective defense. Hopefully he keeps the hustle up and takes Stiemsma's minutes. I remember at the draft combine he was reportedly the best shooter, so his shot will come.

quote:his shot wasn't that off last night. a good bit of his 3s rimmed out it's not like he was air balling, those will start to fall. love how he has zero hesitation when throwing up that 3. i think i'm gonna like this guy

Babbitt exceeded every single expectation I had for him coming in. He played smart, energetic ball last night and was a key factor in winning despite his shot not falling. Some sites didn't like the D he provided, but, quite frankly, I didn't see the lapses or much of what they were talking about.
He's quicker than I thought he would be. He reminded me athletically of a slightly quicker Mike Miller with a chip on his shoulder.
That shot will fall. It will be interesting to see if last night is sustainable or if he's riding high off getting into the league fresh like Ajinca did his first couple of games. Regardless, looking like another serviceable find by Demps for the contract equivalent of peanuts.

Yeah I don't get that either. He was put in charge of guarding the 4th leading scorer in the NBA in crunch time because Davis had 5 fouls. Love didn't make a FG while Babbitt was on him. Better that he made 5 FTs than make a couple more FGs.

Ajinca with 4 points, 6 rebounds, and 1 block in thirteen minutes.

His first play where Barea made him fall down while making a layup past him wasn't too good. Got better from there.
