You watching?

ETA: It's named "Vietnam POWs: Stories of Survival.

It might be on youtube. It was made in 1998. Give it a view.

The next show is a winner too.

Factual representation of the US experience in Vietnam. Great watch for history buffs.

I wish I could have seen that. I was under the command of one of the longest held POW's in NVN. After he was released, he was assigned to our squadron as CO only to retire not long after.

I went to school with a girl whose dad was a POW @ Hanoi Hilton. She was 3-4 when he was shot down and reported as MIA. She didn't see him again until she was 10. Her dad seemed to be a normal guy despite being shot & tortured while captured.

The girl had a brother a few years older than me. I got him a job at the grocery store while he was in college. He was flunking out and told me he was going to join the AF an be a fighter pilot. I told he was full of crap and he wasn't going to flight school ahead of a AF Academy Cadet. I don't know who his dad called but he was off to OCS with quickness and flew F-16s in the first Gulf War. Last time I talked to him he was still in the AF and was a flight instructor.

If he was in the Navy or Marines, he might be mentioned in the link below.

I read numerous books on the POWs.

The ones that stayed for the duration are heroes beyond compare.

I hope we killed that cuban who tortured 3 of our guys to death. He was so bad, the Soviets took him out of N. Vietnam.

Our CO was in bad shape physically and emotionally when he came aboard. I think the Navy just wanted to give him a Command even for a short time before he retired.

Hero? Let there be no doubt.

Next is Ranger training.

I've seen it and it's good.

At the start the cadre make them pt until the give up or continue. It's intense.

ETA: This is the one.

It's a family tradition.....

Grandfather flew P-47 in Europe in WWII

Dad flew A-1E's in Vietnam

And I was in DS/DS

That's pretty impressive! I wonder how many families can boast of three generations of combat pilots?

My senior thesis in High School consisted of a series of interviews with a former POW in the Hanoi Hilton.

I've hated the Vietnamese since I was 17.
