Does LSU have legit shot at finishing .500 in the sec? Will that be enough to get them into the NIT?

I don't understand the road woes. It makes no sense to me. Is it a coaching thing or the players. The stands are empty at home or at UGA / Bama. After last night, NCAA is out, NIT is a 60% chance.

Ridiculous how inconsistent we are. That seems like coaching.

Try this Johnny Jones... LINK

This team can make the tourney and will no doubt at least make the NIT.

The road woes are perplexing though. That crowd last night was pathetic and did not effect play at all

The NIT? Back when he was at UNO, this is what Tim Floyd used to say about the NIT:

"I don't wanna hear about the NIT. As long as we have a chance to make the NCAA Tournament, that's where our focus is."

Despite last night, LSU is still on the NCAA Tourney bubble. NIT is a non-issue right now.

yea we should be able to finish 9-9. we lost one home game but we got that back by beating usce on the road. we still have a winnable road game at a&m as well.

I think 9-9 would get us a nit bid

Well we're 5-4 now and should improve to 6-4 Saturday, hosting a really bad Auburn bunch.

That would mean 3-5 in the last 8 puts us 9-9.
I expect them to do better than that though.

This!

So lets look at remaining schedule:

Auburn
@Texas A&M
@ Arkansas
Mississippi St
@ Kentucky
Texas A&M
@ Florida
@ Vanderbilt
Georgia

Looks like a 4-5 finish the rest of the way.

Currently 14-7 - 5-4 in SEC

Projecting 18-12 - 9-9 in SEC.....NIT bubble team

Like I've said, the loss to UMASS & RI hurt. Those 2 would have put us at the magin 20 win mark. 20-10 would have us as a NCAA bubble team.

9-9 would be absolutely pathetic for this team. shite, last year's group finished 9-9 in an SEC that was maybe slightly worse than this year's version. If this team can't finish better than 9-9, then Jones deserves some heat

No way we should finish worse than 5-4 ... and I'm counting UK and UF as losses.

A few breaks on the road and LSU should have just enough to get into the NIT. I know it rubs the tards the wrong way b/c it's hard for them to accept the fact that this team simply doesn't know how to handle success. An NIT birth would definitely be a sign of progress for this program.

its definitely a disappointment considering our talent vs. that of our competition. And Trent made the NIT his last season...

They will be 12-6 or 11-7. They will win all 4 remaining home games and A&M and Vanderbilt on the road. They have a shot at winning one of the other road games if they come out fired up and shoot well.

Boy would I like to forget that game. It was so embarrassing that I would rather we had not made the tournament.
