Preacher tv series
It is gonna be hard to have this series on a channel that can't show nudity and gratuitous amounts of gore.

HBO could probably pull it off, but I don't think AMC is the right channel for the source material.

I can't believe it's taken this long for it to hit a screen of some sort, big or small.

Done right it could be as awesome as anything on TV ever has been. But if done half assed it could be the biggest disappoint I've ever had tube wise.

I wish Transmetropolitan would get done in a series.

You just dashed my hopes.. Thanks.

Certain things have to be in this series for it to be successful:

-Tulip has to be a strong female lead. She can't just be portrayed as Jesse's old lady; someone who just follows him around on his zany adventures. She has to be Jesse's equal.

-The tone needs to be done as dark comedy. If done wrong, it will either be goofy or too dark.

-Arseface, Arseface, Arseface! Do not put him as some background character; his origin must be told, and his character must be fleshed out.

-Until the End of the World storyline. If they mess this up, I may lose my mind. Jody & TC must be present, and they must be as messed up and disgusting as they are in the book.

-John Wayne spirit/ghost/guide/whatever is a big part of the book. I could see them leaving this out because its too weird and may not translate well. I don't care, the Duke must be in this series.

If people got their panties into a wad about what Phil Robertson said, I can't to see how people react to what the Saint of Killers does at the end of the series.

I imagine some of this will be filmed in Louisiana.

I would hope so. But, with a road trip type show, a lot of the filming will probably be on sound stages.

If you didn't read the second story arc, "Until the End of the World", you really missed out. Man, you missed out on the best the comic had to offer; Jody TC and Grandma as well as the origin story of Jesse, the introduction of Herr Starr and The Grail, the return of Arseface, War in the Desert...
I think you should at least read the next arc before you pass final judgment on this series.

I like AMC, but I don't. Like, how is AMC going to do Negan in the Walking Dead? Wish HBO had got this but I'm holding out hope
