23 committments for 2014. Harris and Paris were EEs so they count towards last year...

Meaning we can sign four EEs this upcoming year in addition to the 25 allotted?

TIA

Don't know if this is the NSD hangover or if the feelings are genuine, but many seem to indicate that next year's class could be as solid as this years, with a HEAVY emphasis on the OL/DL.

Next years LA crop is super deep. Should be another great year.

EEs don't automatically count to the previous year.

Also seems like we're in line for the top player in Illinois and Texas.

I don't care as much if the LA fence is allegedly down... thing about a fence, it keeps what's inside inside and what's outside outside.

I'll take a 5* OL in Illinois over a low 4* LB in LA if that's the decision to be made.

The fact that we were able to take the No.1 prospect from 5(?) states this year is remarkable.

Thanks for clarifying, but what does that mean as far as our spots for 2015?

This is the truth! Gotta keep'em in state though. And still get ours from Florida, Texas and Illinois.

EE's only count towards the previous years class if there was room in the previous years recruiting class. I believe we had a full class last year and they all enrolled. So probably not going to be able to count any back in this class.

How many seniors do we have and how many juniors are likely to make the jump? How many get processed to SLU?

Not exactly. The main number is 85. We have a big senior class next year. Players graduating, transferring, or declaring for the NFL before the start of school in January will open up the EE spots for next years class. IMO we could have 5-10 EE's next year if everything works out right.

Not sure on those numbers, I was referring to oversigning. The SEC can put the rule in place, but there really isn't much they can do as long as you meet the 85.

Ask UT.

Next year's class may be as talented but it'll have a tough time being as classy. Can't say enough about this group.

Around 20, a few have gotten their degrees already.

A few.

They don't get processed. Most leave on their own to get more playing time at smaller schools.

You think they just decide on their own that they are going to transfer. I'm pretty sure the coaches tell them they are taking up a spot and will never play so go find somewhere else to play.

They might, but that doesn't mean shite since they can't force the players to transfer. They tell the players the truth. It's up to the players to make the final decision. Some choose to stay and finish their LSU degree, others transfer for more playing time.

In the end it almost always the players decision.

The scholarships are only for one year at a time so yes, they can tell a player you don't have a schollie for next season. If a player doesn't develop, work hard or just doesn't pan out the scholarship doesn't have to be renewed.

WRT EEs counting back to this year, the controlling limit is the 25. The 85 can limit the overall number of EEs, it will not come into play wrt counting back. Since we signed 23, we have at least 2 spots available.

It is possible we could have 2 more if the 2 EEs this year were able to be counted back. To know this you have to know how the spots for Fehoka (sp) and Avery Peterson (I think that is who it was) were handled when they failed to qualify and entered a semester late. If we had to count their signing LOIs and their subsequent entry separately, then our 2 EEs couldn't have been counted back. If not, then they could be counted back.

Not many coaches do that. The media backlash would be huge. Jarrett Fobbs and Armand Williams are still on the team and they have barely played in 4 years. Same goes for other players.
