They play Monday night? Wow, that was a short off-season.

False.

They were better than us this year.

Our only chance was getting the 2 seed and hoping San Fran could knock them off.

No one was beating Seattle that night.

That was their "09 Patriots game".

we likely would have, had we won MNF against them. I think that was the OP's point.

True on both accounts.
They looked like us in 09.
They just had "it" this year.

False. Seattle and New Orleans depended on having the top seeds. The Seahawks took care of business, Saints did not.

Now, if the Saints take care of business @STL and @CAR as well, then yes

There would've been a NFC Championship game appearance for sure if they would've beat Seattle on MNF.

The season is over with now though. No need to discuss the what-ifs. Let's move on to free agency and the draft.

We could have gotten it a number of other ways. We weren't even close to beating Seattle that night.

Hanging on for 30 more seconds against Carolina/New England could have changed the entire season, IMO.

I don't care about that game.

We could have won the divisional game in Seattle with some better play calling and minus some stupid gloves.

This, and there's no shame in that. Seattle was really, really good this year in pretty much every aspect.

Until proven otherwise, Seattle is the best team in the NFL. That defense is downright unstoppable.

there isn't anything wrong with that though.

I thought the Saints bounced back and played much better against them in the playoffs.

there were a few goofs in the kicking game that really hurt us. The defense played well enough to win. It just took the offense to long to find the endzone in that game.

that... and the screens were totally ineffective.

but come to find out... they just aren't the type of defense you can really run a screen on either.

Denver found that out in the Super Bowl.

That was a regular season game.

We still had to finish the regular season AND then the playoffs and then the superbowl.

No team has ever been named super bowl champs midseason

True. We beat Carolina too.

Seattle doesn't come into the dome and beat us in the playoffs.

Dude I'm a huge homer but with the injuries and lack of a deep threat at WR we weren't good enough to win a SB this year I didn't have the feeling that I had like in 06 09 and 11. I think next year is our year, we just weren't quite there this year. Seattle was on another level this year, they will step off next year
