Trai Turner

Just found out that he is leaving early for the NFL. This is an absolute joke. Does anyone know his reason for leaving so early? The early departures are killing LSU. What makes LSU so different from other schools and why don't teams like Bama and Auburn get so many early departures like LSU does? If you are projected to go in the first 2 rounds then by all means...leave. But to lose guys to the 6th round of the NFL draft is very disheartening. Just makes you wonder about the advice they are gettin.

No clue why some of these guys are taking minimum contracts. They are leaving millions on the table by not staying 1 more year.
Seems like people are getting into our guys ears more so than elsewhere.

We're all still high from NSD. Don't remind us of that.

If you were in an engineering program at say LSU and the top engineering firm in the world contacted you with an entry level position that would pay you $500,000 annual plus expenses, benefits, etc...
Do you?
a. Tell them, no thanks, I'll wait until I finish this class and take my chances once I graduate.
b. accept the current offer faster than uncle Si can say "Hey Jack!"
Keep in mind, you can always complete your education in engineering or some other vocation at some point if the position doesn't last or work out...
Honestly, what would you do?
P.S. we just signed what might turn out to be the best class in our history, the future is bright!

This is an absolute joke
quote:FWIW there were 3 OG taken in the top 20 picks last year. I don't think he goes in the 1st round by any means, but i think he could be a 2nd or 3rd round pick. If he does, him leaving early will be more than justified. Why can't people just be happy for the young man and the opportinity he has to fulfill his dream of playing in the NFL.

Seriously, im still very fresh on recruiting why bring this up? And what took so long to hear this? Lets get back to enjoying our recruiting class!

I had to look at the date to see if someone had not posted this from a month ago.
We had a great recruiting class. Enjoy it.

Cash vs. Calculus
And it's never a bad thing when LSU sends kids to the NFL. You can't have your cake and eat it too. Tell kids you can get them NFL read quick, then expect them to stick around??

Goddamnit. Can we ban this douchebag or at least delete this shitty thread? Why do we feel the need to bash our players' decision to leave early for the NFL - a month after the fact?

Why not now? Eventually you will have to acknowledge it.

I would choose the path that optimally would minimize the risk of me making a team and the path that gives me the best chance of sticking in the league.
Basically, I would make sure I'm at worst a 4th round pick.

Because there is a large and loud contingent of our fan base that is not happy unless they, and the people around them, are miserable.

Where did this info come from? About 4 or 5 weeks ago Matt Moscona had a list compiled by some "experts" (I don't know the publication) that didn't even have him listed in the top 50 at his position. I know a lot of people here like to trash him and his show but it's not like it was his opinion but rather a "professional" source. What changed? I am not trying to shred the guy... hell I hope he gets drafted and has a hall of fame career. It would certainly help us with the whole "LSU can't get offensive linemen into the league" arguement.

Acknowledge what exactly? You do know that there are way more schools than just us going through the same thing right? Also this was discussed hourly and daily weeks after announcements. Let it go until after the draft, or just let it go all together.

I don't always start new threads, but when I do, I start them on topics already discussed at excessive lengths, preferably months prior to my post.
