He's 35 and in his 15th season. He's averaging 21.9 PPG and just scored 30 points in back to back games. He added 26 tonight on 10-14 shooting. A lot of people started calling the wind-down of his career when he had those injury problems last year, but it's back to the same old Dirk this year. Having Monte there to take off some of the scoring slack is huge, but he's still the team's leading scorer and is still shooting lights out. He's shooting 49% from the field and 40% from 3 pt land. There's no doubt he's gotten slower, but it's not like speed was ever a part of his game in the first place. How many years does he have left?

I'm fricked up, but I think you should retitle the thread and ask something like is there any way he could get sent to Indy or Chi?

Dirk has as long as he desires. He is one of the best power forwards, and players of all time. Im pretty sure he atleast comes back for next season

He plays a style of basketball that will keep in the league for a while. He doesn't really rely on his athleticism all that much, so as it depletes he doesn't really lose much of his game.

Dirk does not have to rely on his athleticism to score points. Even if he has just a few years of starting and elite play left, he could still be a lethal bench option till he is at least 40.

I still think he is the premier shooting PF in the NBA, although Kevin Love is threatening to take that from him.

And Dirk is averaging 29.8 points in his last 5 games after being selected to his 12th All-Star team. Don't think he is done this season.

I love Dirk, but Kevin Love has already taken it.

Nah, Love took the premier scoring PF title from Dirk. I think Dirk is still the better overall shooter.

Dirk aint ever leaving Dallas. Cuban would give that man whatever he wants to stay, and rightfully so.

This. Dirk doesn't want to leave and Cuban doesn't want him to go. He'll retire a Maverick.

Kevin Love has only averaged more than 20 points a game 3 times. Right now Kevin Love has a lower FG% a lower 3pt% and his FT% is 10% below Dirk's. Last year Love averaged 18 points a game. The title is still very much Dirk's.
