Are we looking at anyone that we might still take in this class?

Now that the questions are answered in terms of NSD? Looks like we will have a couple of roster spots available. I know in the past we have taken some guys after NSD.

If a recruit falls through the cracks like Jerrard Randall did a couple years ago the the staff will check it out.

Fehoko Fanaika was an after signing day grab too

The door isn't shut on the 2014 class yet

I would think if there may be an OT that we could take and RS that may be worth a shot since we didn't get any OTs in this class.

Do those two spots allow us to add two more to 2015, or no?

No. You can only sign (and enroll) 25 every year. There is however the 85 overall players limit.

Pretty sure they can still use those spots to count towards the 25 limit this year for any early enrollees in next year's class.

Then how do some of the classes have 26-34 players signed?

With the way we are pumping out juniors to the NFL I don't think the 85 is a problem. Which is why I was thinking we might want to go ahead and get 25 if it is possible. But, if the early enrolees next year count for this class then obviously I would rather us do that.

Curious about Fanaika's "little" brother. I thought he was a JC Soph this year, but not sure. I'll find out tomorrow.

If they had the open slots in the fall (that is <85) they can count some guys backwards if some are early enrollees.

So a team who has 80 on a scholarship in the fall could sign more than 25 in the next class if those extra guys were Spring enrollees. The remaining would show up in the summer/fall.

My understanding is a team cannot sign the additional 5 players if the team signed 25 in the previous class. USC will not be able to bring its roster back to 85 next class by signing as many as it takes.

At the moment, the Tigers can early enroll 2 next year and sign as many as 25 in the usual class -- provided graduation, early pro declarations, and attrition bring the roster to 58 total.

58 + 25 + 2 = 85

Any extra players would have to be grayshirted, miss the fall semester, early enroll, and count toward the next class' 25.

That's just my understanding -- not entirely reliable coming from someone who was asked recently for his phone number and was unable to recall it.

What were we talking about?

They don't have to sign 25 players. Knowing Miles, he would rather reward a solid walk on for their hard work than give a schollie to a kid that might not cut the mustard. It takes a special type of kid to compete at LSU these days.

Now if a worthy kid pops up then it' on.
