found one in a pond here in mississippi i was fishing a couple years ago. It was probably 8ft long hanging from a tree limb into the pond. Me and a friend were fishing and had the bright idea to shoot it... only gun i had was 9mm. So we snuck up withing probably 6-8ft of it and "boom" shot it, but not in the head... all hell broke loose! That mfr hit the water going crazy, we were standing in ankle deep water, my buddy went to run, slipped and as he was fallig grabbed my shoulder. We both go down and gun goes flying in the pond, thos big arse snake is going crazy literally hitting with my feet.. the in a flash it shot under water and gone! We both just ran back to the truck and sit on the dock soaking wet watching that pond the next 2 hrs and never saw it again

I don't even live in South Florida but I fricking hate the pythons down there. Talk about a fricking invasive species. They should just pass legislation allowing anyone to kill these frickers on sight. In the mean time, I hope the Gator population (adults) continues to frick them up.
