Is ESPN the recruiting site of choice?

All of the post I see throwing around the recruiting numbers and rankings seem to be based on ESPN rankings.
Has this shifted, because a few years ago I remember everyone considering them kind of a recruiting "joke"?

No. ESPN had the coverage on national signing day, which is why you see people throwing around those #s. They are watching or listening to radio and hearing ESPN people throw out the #s.
Imagine ESPN in a pie graph... high school football recruiting would be the smallest piece for ESPN, and by a good margin too. its the only thing 24/7 does.
247sports bro. Plus they do the composite of all major recruiting sites.

ESPN's player rankings stink. They are the best when it comes to the NFL, NBA, etc., but they don't follow high school football enough to know jack shite about a players ability.

Not in a lot of cases on here, which is why I asked. For instance, with Dupre.
In all honesty, I was just asking so I could look at our class. I don't follow recruiting until the day of, so for me today is a day to go see what we signed and I was just curious as to the best place to look.

The ones who just see espn rankings are the people that don't really follow recruiting. They just see it on tv

Given their resources, they are horrible. They should be the best by a mile. Wouldn't be suprised if they merged with 247 in a couple of years.

What about dupre? he announced on espnu. But espn is a joke imo. rivals, scout and 24/7 are the best with 24/7 being the best.
no one on here looks at espn. really it had been guys from scout and rivals, some of them moved on and now most people prefer 24/7 where those guys moved to.

Hell no. It's bullshite you have to be a member to even look at commits or team rankings.
