Y'know, since Becks had the contract stipulation where he gets to own a team at a reduced rate, he should immediately flip that franchise to somebody willing to buy at full price.

I think we all know what this will be. If they are going to make it work out in Miami they better bring in some big names.

just confirmed that Beckham has chosen Miami as the location for his club.

I think this team will be a success. Playing in Miami and not an hour away will help the attendance and is there any doubt that Beckham won't put a competitive squad together?

they will fund the stadium themselves, no public funding

Florida attendances suck, unless they're winning championships.

I think we can all agree that the location is a bit underwhelming, albeit expected.

What I'm excited to see is how the club shapes and cultivates the local talent. Miami is a superb location for a youth academy.

Good to see that the Florida Derby is off to a good start . I do think that this team could be successful. I think a lot of guys playing in Europe right now would be interested in play for Beckham and playing in Miami. It might be good to sign some South Americans.

This club will have star power in the ownership and on the pitch. European and South American players will want to play and live in Miami. A badass stadium will be built in the city by the port. A top academy will be established. People will love this club and will love to hate this club. And a great derby will begin between Miami and Orlando...the rich star power elites from the glitzy coast against the blue collar, down home folks from the panhandle.

So shall it be.

Yep, that's definitely helped the Marlins.

While I mostly agree with what you're saying, you may want to check a map of Florida.

Yeah the panhandle runs from the AL state line to a point east of Tallahassee.
