Don't waste your money on a smart tv. Get a regular TV for a lot less and get either a roku or appletv. I personally use appletv

Walmart has good prices on really big TVs and Vizio is a decent brand. If you want a really good TV get a Samsung, bought my 47" in 2009 and it still awesome. Sad is that what I paid for it new then I could get a 60" Samsung now.

It's the start of model change season, many brands are spreading some of the model launches thought the year, but for the most part, lots of new models coming out. So should be lots of deals on 13' models.

Yes. The "Smart" TV will have the apps loaded on the TV directly ,as opposed to an Apple TV, ROKU, XBOX etc. But you will still have to subscribe for the content no matter the platform.

I would echo the earlier poster and get a non-smart TV and use an add-on for streaming. History shows that the TV manufacturers don't make very good software as a rule, and they damn sure don't care about keeping what they do make updated as time goes on.

Like river said, the apps on TVs aren't usually developed as well as on appletv (or the like). You'll definitely save $, but it really comes down to exactly what you're gonna stream. I stream through a Sony DVD player, appletv & ps3. Appletv is by far the best, but I hate the music apps.

In the market as well. So, if I have a ps3 for Netflix, mlbtv etc, is there no use for a smart tv?
