I really haven't been following recruiting a whole lot this year, but if both of these guys commit to us tomorrow, do yall think we will finish with the #1 ranked class?

Yes but why does it matter if we have the number one class? If we landed those two and had the number 3 class would you people be less excited?

God damn it, that's not the question. Why can't I like the class but still want two of the top players in the nation also?

Jesus christ man.

If we land those two plus Valentine, Young, and one or two more on the board...it will be close on the composite. If by some miracle we also land Carter in addition to the aforesaid, then I think we not only finish #1 overall, but likely have one of the highest rated classes of all time.

I'm just curious to know. Usually the school that lands the #1 class gets more publicity in the media.

we could get second with those plus V, at least in Rivals. I think they only use top 20 players signed. I dont think we get to 25. Long shot to even be in top 3 with all the misses.

True, and it could help with interest of more incoming recruits.

I just don't understand the obsession that some people on this board have on having the number one class. (Not saying that's you)

I think if lsu somehow miracously pulled dupre adoree carter young valentine and somehow jumped Bama espn would do one more final rankings update and a few of our guys would drop and they would just edge us out for #1

Dude... we are top 3 right now with only 19 commits. The 2 teams ahead of us are Bama and Ohio St. Bama has 25 players committed already and Ohio St has 22.

And the only thing people talk about are "all the misses". Yeah we missed out on some in state players. We also got 2 of the top 5 players from the state of TX, the #1 player in Illinois who is the #1 MLB prospect, the #1 player from MS in Voorhies, and Clark is still committed to us and is a top 2 player in the state of Oklahoma. He could decommit due to family reasons that everyone understands, but he hasnt done it yet.

And we also got the biggest fish in the pond in Leonard Fournette, who just happens to be the #1 player in the nation and has been labeled a "once in a lifetime" type prospect. Not to mention some other big time players from the state of LA like Quinn, Godchaux, Williams, Brumfield, Clapp, Harris, Washington, etc.

If we get Dupre and Valentine and the 2 LBs from TX, we will have a hell of a class.

Its amazing how people think that this has been a bad year recruiting for us. Yea we missed out on some in state players, but we also replaced them with studs from out of state, some are upgrades over the in state players. And when its all said and done we will be a top 5 class, most likely top 3, and will still be 1 of the best classes we have ever had.

Why are you pumping this man up for the number one class in the country. You will just disappoint the man when it's all said and done.
