Yea we have all generally heard that we should not "re-freeze" meats.

Seems more and more Im seeing frozen chicken, ribs, butt, or whatever at the stores.

If they have it in the meat counter for a couple of days, it thaws then we the buyer go in and think its fresh and may re-freeze it at home. I mean we've all bought ribs/meat on sale and brought home to freeze for later.

My go to's are Winn Dixie, Albertsons, Leblanc's, etc.

Are most meats frozen when the stores get em, then they thaw em, then we re-freeze em ?

Think so. Is the rule no thaw and refreeze more than 3 times?

Can't really speak for most stores but when I was at Restaurant Depot, all the meat came in fresh except the meat that was to be sold as frozen meat.

Supermarkets play this fresh/frozen game more I suspect.

You can always ask the butcher how they get them.

Yes.

It's like a market or restaurant saying they have never frozen shrimp. 99.99% of the time you can just laugh in their face, as they are talking out their arse.

It's all on the FDA. They allow companies to claim "never frozen" if they are at a temperature that is right at the freeze line. In many grocery stores, the frozen and fresh meat come in at the same exact temperature, slightly frozen.
