Have some friends coming to town this weekend and we're thinking about going play. I haven't played there before and I was looking for opinions on the game there. Looking to play 1/2 or 2/5 NL.

Is it usually busy? Tight or loose game? We had gotten used to playing at Shorties @ Cypress Bayou, but the moronic management chose to close the poker room permanently last week.

Any opinions appreciated.

if its anything like the belle poker tables you better bring a team. By that I mean if you think others at the table arent playing together your crazy.

A buddy and I went one Friday and had a great time. People at the table were friendly, very chill and talkative. I'd highly recommend it.

You may have to wait a bit to get a seat, as it gets crowded on weekends, but it's worth it.

My roommate goes and plays by himself about once a week. He has been doing so for about a year and has never mentioned feeling like something suspicious was going on.

I paid rent several times with winnings from that table. But if i noticed certain people at the table I would not play. Every time I would raise I would have to play 3 or 4 on 1. And at the end of the night they would all leave together. The belle was a shitty, shady place

Fair enough. We need to get a TD tourney going.

I wouldn't be surprised if there was collusion going on....but the main problem I had playing at the Belle is that it was always the SAME people...over and over and over and I felt disadvantaged because they all knew each other so well and knew how each other played. I felt like the bloody body in the shark tank. If I were a great player, that would be one thing, but I am a novice at best and felt like I just couldn't win.

A decade ago Ryan lenaghan and a couple others colluded at the belle and were caught. Theyve been playing at Harrahs ever since.
