Says Jose Mourinho.

Agree? Disagree?

Other candidates?

What's considered "young?" Under 23?

And personally, I think Mario Götze is the best. Pogba, and Neymar are just slightly better than Hazard.

My order, off the top of my head
1. Mario Götze (by a good margin)
2a. Paul Pogba
2b. Neymar
4. Eden Hazard
5. Balotelli
6. Wilshere (homer pick)

The rest (Eriksen, Varane, Thiago Alcantara, etc...)

I think he's really good but for me he needs to score more goals. Top 3 for under 24 but he has potential and is fun to watch

I would prefer Thiago or Varane over Wilshere by a good bit.

Also, Isco is missing from your list. Bale is only 24 FWIW.

Consistency and goal scoring are areas for improvement (though he has shown big strides in both this year) but on the ball he is as good as there is.

Draxler as well. Balotelli isn't even in the discussion.

Balo is better than Hazard, IMO.

And Isco is probably better than both of them but needs more time to prove it.

Pogba is very good. I'd say he and Götze are very close. Thiago has been playing out of his skull, if that's a form he can keep up, then he's up there. Draxler is probably up there, no one watched Schalke though.

Erikson, Thiago, Draxler are all great choices. What are we considering young exactly? We need a cutoff point. Under 23?

Before his injuries, Ramsey was on some great form this year.

Agreed, Ramsey was on blistering form. Can't wait to get him back.

Also I think Thibaut Courtois deserves consideration for this list.

I'd go with Neymar top and...

Gotze, Hazard, Pogba, Isco and Varane in the top group..

a bunch of others in the tier below..

a few have fallen from grace like Iker Muniain and Lucas Moura, though they are fully capable of fulfilling their promise...

Pogba may end up best of the bunch!

I don't know if I buy that Hazard is the best. Pogba is so damn good. Ramsey looks like the complete midfielder. Gotze is going to be wonderful for Munich.

If 23 is the cutoff, I'm not sure I consider Hazard all that young. For me young in this sport is 21 or so. By 23 you are the player you are going to be, before then you grow massively. Hazard isn't the finished product yet, but he's a superb dribbler and his off the ball movement is super intelligent. He needs to score more goals, and influence games to the degree that he did yesterday. He basically was Chelsea's attack.

For me Pogba is a once in a lifetime player. Everyone else doesn't have his combination of physical and technical attributes. I hope he can live up to his massive talents, because he's a joy to watch.

Hard to disagree with any of Neymar, Hazard or Pogba

Yeah, and that he's not a smallish, creative attacking midfielder makes him more particular in comparison.

There's also a ton more that can potentially be more valuable players than any of these (Verratti, Thiago, Marquinhos, Balotelli etc etc) when you consider that #9s, defenders and deeper midfielders traditionally develop slower.

Verratti is incredible. He's going to be Pirlo's replacement for Italia.

I would probably put Pogba and Neymar at the same level. They are so completely different though so it's hard to compare them.
